
Spring Into Action Wellness Challenge: May 8 – June 30, 2023
ABOUT THE CHALLENGE:
Join us in living a healthy, fulfilling life as we Spring Into Action with this 8-week virtual wellness challenge! This challenge will involve step-tracking, and we’ve made it simple – using the Strive App and Google Fit, your steps, exercise minutes and move calories will all be tracked automatically. Simply sign up for the challenge, download the app, enable health tracking, and keep an eye on the leaderboard as you compete for one of our top three prizes!
Transfitnation & Developmental Disabilities Institute have teamed up to raise money to build an outdoor therapeutic garden that will benefit children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. All proceeds from this fundraising campaign will go directly to DDI.

Sign up for the Spring Into Action Wellness Challenge by donating $10.00 on our GoFundMe Page. This money will go directly to support the Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI). Review the Medical Disclaimer & Terms of Participation below before signing up for the challenge.

Founded in 1961, DDI serves more than 1,700 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Your support extends DDI’s ability to provide the highest quality of service in their educational, residential, habilitative, vocational, transportation and self-direction services.
The money raised from this fundraising campaign and wellness challenge will be used to provide the children and adults at DDI with therapeutic gardens. The children and adults at Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) are thrilled to be spending time outdoors appreciating nature and feeling the warmth of the sun and the cool soil as they plant their gardens at DDI. The benefits of these gardens go beyond the vegetables, herbs, and flowers they yield – they also build self-esteem, calm the senses and instill a sense of wonder in those DDI serves. We are working to ensure that every site has a garden for each child and adult to enjoy. - Download the Strive Fitness & Weight Loss App on your phone.
- Create a free account – Make sure your account name matches the name used to make the GoFundMe donation.
- Click Competitions > Join A Competition > Click “Use Code” > Enter the Code: uAKxNHHlTN to join our competition. **Please note, the code is case-sensitive and the third to last letter is a lower-case “L”**
- *Make sure health tracking is enabled to allow your steps and activity to be automatically synced.

STEP 3: JOIN OUR WELLNESS COMMUNITY

This group will connect you with the members of our wellness community. We will be posting weekly content to help keep you on track towards hitting your step, exercise & active calorie goals. Topics that will be posted include the benefits of step tracking, hydration, fitness tips and more. This will be a place for you to ask questions, share your progress, and be held accountable.

Tag us in your fitness and nutrition posts. Use the hashtag #SpringIntoAction for all posts related to our Spring Into Action Wellness Competition to be featured on our page/story.
HOW THE WELLNESS CHALLENGE WORKS:
OVERVIEW:
During this 8-week Wellness Challenge, we will be tracking our steps. Participants with smartwatches will have the option to track active calories and exercise minutes. At the end of the 8 weeks, the top three participants with the most steps will win a prize. Exercise Minutes and Move Calories will be tracked for fun, but no prizes will be awarded for these categories.
WEEKLY GOALS:
We set daily goals for you to hit each week. To keep the competition fair, we will cap the maximum number of steps/move calories/mins of exercise each week. Daily Move Calories & Minutes of Exercise can be tracked using a smartwatch. Each week, the maximums for each category will increase to encourage a safe progression for all fitness levels.
The Strive app Leaderboard will not adjust to these daily maximums – we will post weekly updates for the top participants from the adjusted leaderboard on our Facebook Group & on the Transfitnation Instagram story.
The Google Fit app does not allow for group tracking. If you are using the Google Fit app, we ask that you email us a screenshot of your weekly/monthly step tracking stats to be included in the leaderboard. You can submit your weekly/monthly step-tracking stats to us at: [email protected]

To help you reach your wellness goals, Transfitnation is inviting all participants of this wellness challenge to join us for 2 virtual group training classes on ZOOM. Train from the comfort of your home or from a gym near you. We put together a list of basic equipment that you can purchase for this class (Under $50) and no equipment is needed to participate.
